Harry Kane has been branded the ‘complete all-round player’ after helping Tottenham reach the Carabao Cup final.

Spurs beat Brentford 2-0 on Tuesday night to book a trip to Wembley, where they will face either Manchester United or Man City in April.

Kane didn’t score or get an assist in the game, with Moussa Sissoko and Heung-min Son finding the net against the Championship side, but it was another solid performance from the striker who boasts incredible stats this season.

The England captain has 17 goals and 14 assists in just 25 appearances for Spurs so far this term, including ten goals in the Premier League.

While that only places him sixth in the race for the Golden Boot, the centre-forward is leading the way for assists in the top flight.

His tally of 11 is more than midfielders and pass-masters Kevin de Bruyne (eight) and Bruno Fernandes (seven).

He needs only nine more to equal Thierry Henry’s record of 20 assists in a season, and ending the campaign as the top goal provider would make him the first striker to do so since Chelsea hero Didier Drogba in 2005/06, when he finished with 12.

His stunning tally also ranks him above Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski as the player with the best goal stats in European football this season.

And his former boss Redknapp told talkSPORT he’s been in awe of Kane’s all-round performances.

“Harry Kane, he’s a complete all-round player,” the ex-Spurs manager said on Wednesday’s talkSPORT Breakfast.

“On and off the field he’s the full and complete package. He’s making passes now as well as scoring all the goals. His passing, when he gets wide he delivers great crosses, he plays great early through passes.

“He lives the right life, you never see anything bad about the boy, he’s a great trainer, he’ll be the first out on the training pitch and the last one off.

“When I was there he’d practise every day after training. He’d spend a half hour doing his finishing and shooting, he just loves being a footballer and the rewards he’s got from it are fully deserved – he’s a fantastic player.”

Redknapp has also tipped Jose Mourinho to end the north London club’s long wait for a trophy, after guiding Tottenham to the Wembley showpiece.

“You wouldn’t like to pick a winner; whoever plays Tottenham in the final there is very little in it, it’s an even game,” he added.

“Tottenham, Man City, Manchester United, they are three of the best teams in the league, for sure, three teams you’d certainly see finishing in the top four, so Tottenham have every chance.

“And fair dos to Tottenham, they’ve gone for the competition from day one, they’ve not picked reserve teams, they’ve not made ten changes.

“I think lots of clubs go into that competition now and suddenly they’ve made ten changes from the Saturday. Even Brentford did it in the quarter-final!

“But Spurs deserve it, Jose has put out strong teams and they’ve got their reward now they’re in the final.”
