Pochettino Sr was sacked in November 2019 and now his son has left the club to sign a four-year contract with the Hornets. It’s thought he’ll be part of their youth set-up.

Maurizio, who is primarily a right-back but can play on the left, signed a new contract with Spurs last June.

But his dad’s successor, Jose Mourinho, gave the green light for him to join Watford making him the last Pochettino to leave Spurs.

Pochettino’s other son, Sebastiano, worked as a first-team conditioning coach but left the club when his dad was sacked.

“We have reached agreement with Championship side Watford for the transfer of Maurizio Pochettino,” said Spurs in a statement.

“Having joined our academy as a schoolboy, the winger went full-time with our Under-18s in 2017 and featured in the first ever football match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in March, 2019, as our youngsters defeated Southampton in a Test Event.

“Maurizio stepped up to Development Squad level in the summer of 2019 and made eight appearances in the Premier League 2 during the first half of the current season, scoring in a 3-2 win at Blackburn Rovers.

“Everyone at the club wishes Maurizio all the best for the future.”
