Steve Bruce hits back at critics by making EIGHT changes at Arsenal for first time in Newcastle history with three strikers and new midfield

Bruce said:

“I pick the team, I got it wrong and I have to take responsibility,” .

“The gloves are off now and we will do it my way.

“We’ve thrown that hand grenade in too often and that’s what we have to erase. It’s the disappointing thing I’m going to have to improve.”

True to his word, Bruce has made eight changes from one Premier League match to another for the first time in Newcastle history.

Only Karl Darlow, Ciaran Clark and Callum Wilson survive from the 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United as Bruce names an entirely new midfield at the Emirates.

In response to his critics, Bruce has gone with three strikers in Wilson, Andy Carroll and Joelinton, in a match which has seen Newcastle take a cautious approach in recent years.
