Gareth Southgate certainly has a lot to think about when it comes to deciding his England midfield for Euro 2020.
It’s a lovely problem to have, and has never been more evident than right now, with Jack Grealish, James Maddison and Phil Foden in excellent form.
But don’t forget about Mason Mount, Jordan Henderson, Declan Rice, Ross Barkley and Jude Bellingham too – the England boss can only fit three of these players in his midfield.
Last week, talkSPORT’s Darren Bent offered his two cents on who should be given the attacking midfield role, saying he felt Maddison should play ahead of Aston Villa captain Grealish.
However, Foden sent a reminder to any doubters with his heroics against Liverpool, scoring a brilliant goal in Manchester City’s blitzing of the champions at Anfield.
And there’s no doubting who Man City fan Jackie, a regular talkSPORT caller, would have in her team if she was England manager.
Foden, of course!
Drivetime hosts Adrian Durham and Andy Townsend certainly didn’t subscribe to Jackie’s view that Grealish ‘isn’t a patch’ on Foden.
She also believes there isn’t a better young player out there right now than the 20-year-old City star.
“Jack Grealish is a fantastic player, I will not deny that,” began Jackie. “I know my football, but how on earth can he say he’s better than Phil Foden?
“He is not a patch on Foden.
“Foden is the best young player on the planet; not just in the Premier League, on the planet.”
