Amad Diallo further underlined why he’s such a major talent with a sensational display on Friday night as Manchester United’s Under-23s came out on the right end of a 10-goal thriller against Blackburn.

Former Atalanta winger Diallo played a starring role for Neil Wood’s men at Leigh Village, scoring his third goal in just two appearances – but more tellingly providing a stunning hat-trick of assists.

Shola Shoretire was the beneficiary of that with a brilliant treble of goals himself, as United fought back from 1-0, 2-0 and 4-2 down to win the game in spectacular fashion over Rovers.

Joe Hugill and Hannibal Mejbri were also on target for the Red Devils, who beat arch nemesis Liverpool 6-3 in their previous outing.

Diallo grabbed a brace in that victory and was superb once more in the Premier League 2 clash against in-form Blackburn.

Amad Diallo is a ‘future star’ and ‘just like Messi’ – no wonder Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United fans are excited he’s signed

Rovers twice took the lead at Leigh Sports Village, where the 18-year-old starlet sent in a cross for Shoretire to make it 2-2 heading into half-time.

Diallo, who was named in United’s 24-man Europa League squad earlier this week, looked bright on the right wing throughout proceedings and played a key role in turning things around for United after they went 4-2 down.

Diallo sent over a beautiful cross for Shoretire to reduce the deficit and, after Hugill levelled, linked up again with the 17-year-old as he scored a hat-trick from a trio of perfect assists from the Ivorian.

Not to be kept off the scoresheet, he smashed home the final goal of the evening to wrap up a 6-4 victory.

The Red Devils completed the signing of Diallo from the Serie A side last month in a £19million deal, which could rise to £37million with add-ons.

Solskjaer will no doubt have been delighted with Diallo’s latest contribution having confirmed earlier in the week that he would feature on Friday night.

“We’re working on his match fitness,” the Norwegian said. “Of course, he’s working hard in training and Blackburn are top of the league so it will be good challenge for them again.”
