Struggling Arsenal could reportedly make a January loan move for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior.

The Gunners have been poor in front of goal so far this season.

They’ve scored 12 goals in their first 14 league matches and sit 15th in the Premier League table.

Club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has barely contributed, scoring three league goals in 13 appearances.

That’s led to club chiefs looking at new attacking options.

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal are hoping to sign Brazil international Vinicius Junior in the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old is available on the loan list as Real officials hope for his exciting development to continue.

Vinicius can play on either wing, making him a versatile squad player.

He’s made six goal contributions in 18 appearances this campaign. Vinicius has also been capped once by his country.

His time at Real Madrid came under scrutiny back in October as striker Karim Benzema reportedly told his teammates ‘not to pass the ball’ to Vinicius.

A loan move would mean Arsenal could check out the player’s talent without having to pay a substantial fee. He could compete with Willian and Nicolas Pepe for a place in the starting lineup.

Given their current league position, Arsenal fans might be worried about their club placing too much pressure on young players.

Boss Mikel Arteta needs to find a route back to form, and fast. Their upcoming fixtures don’t look too challenging, although they do start with a tough game against Chelsea on Boxing Day.

Signing Vinicius on loan next month could give Arteta an extra option to find much-needed goals.
