The Uruguayan frontman is a huge supporter of two up-and-coming stars who are following in his footsteps and putting on shows of their own.

Luis Suarez has chosen his side in the Erling Haaland vs. Kylian Mbappe controversy, with one of his generation’s most prolific strikers predicting a future superstar to describe “an epoch.”

Exciting young players on the books of Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain have already shown that they are capable of positions in the world’s best, while maintaining high expectations.

Many expect them to follow in the footsteps of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who have racked up Ballons d’Or and big trophies as two of the best finishers in the game.

WHAT’S BEEN SAID SO FAR?

Gerard Romero of Twitch asked Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez, who has 500 career goals, to choose between Norwegian and French firepower, with Haaland receiving the nod.

“HE IS A FANTASTIC PLAYER, HE IS AT A PHENOMENAL LEVEL,” THE SEASONED URUGUAYAN SAID. HE HAS IMPRESSIVE PHYSICAL STRENGTH. HE’S ONE OF THE GREATEST NINES IN THE COUNTRY, AND HE’LL USHER IN A NEW ERA.”

he added about Mbappe being edged out.

“A LITTLE MORE FOR HAALAND, BUT MBAPPE IS AT A VERY HIGH LEVEL,”

WHAT IS THE STATUS OF HAALAND AND MBAPPE THIS SEASON?

This season, two of the world’s hottest prospects have remained key components of groundbreaking ventures in Paris and Dortmund.

Mbappe has 30 goals in 36 games for PSG, while Haaland has 33 goals in 31 appearances for BVB.

Both men have advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals and are stirring trade rumours ahead of the summer, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester City reportedly among their many suitors.

WHAT ELSE HAS SUAREZ SAID RECENTLY?

Though keeping an eye on Mbappe and Haaland from afar, the 34-year-old South American is still keeping tabs on what’s going on at his former club Barcelona.

After six unforgettable years in Catalunya, he was ushered out of Camp Nou ahead of the 2020-21 seasons, however despite being a direct competitor in La Liga, he maintains contact with Lionel Messi and his teammates.

Suarez has added: “I watch them because I like to watch football, I admire the club I defended and I’m grateful.

“I TALK TO LEO ALMOST DAILY, BUT SOMETIMES ABOUT THE ODD GAME. EVERYONE KNOWS THE LOVE I HAVE FOR THEM FOR WHAT I DID THERE, ALSO FOR WHAT THEY HAVE GIVEN ME.”
