Our tipster is backing an open match because the Italians are one of Europe’s most successful teams, and they need a goal in this Champions League tie.

Real Madrid will play Atalanta in the second leg of their last-16 clash at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano on Tuesday evening in the hopes of advancing to the Champions League quarterfinals.

After winning in Bergamo, Zinedine Zidane’s side leads their Serie A opponents 1-0 on aggregate, and if they win this match, they will qualify for the competition’s last eight for the first time since 2018.

REAL MADRID VS ATALANTA LATEST ODDS

The 13-time European champions are 21/20 (2.05) to win in 90 minutes with bet365, while the tie – which will also see them advance – is 11/4. (3.75).

Atalanta, on the other hand, have won their last five Champions League away games and have maintained a clean sheet in all three of their away group games this season, but Gianpiero Gasperini’s side are priced at 12/5 (3.40) to win again.

REAL MADRID VS ATALANTA TEAM NEWS

Both Sergio Ramos and Eden Hazard returned from injury against Elche at the weekend but the Belgian is out for this one alongside Dani Carvajal and the suspended Casemiro.

Atalanta are without midfielder Remo Freuler, who has started all seven matches this season in the competition but is suspended following his early red card in the first leg.

REAL MADRID VS ATALANTA PREVIEW

After Freuler’s red card in the 17th minute of the first leg effectively ended the series, the visitors travel to Madrid just a goal down and with nothing to lose.

Bergamo is used to finding the back of the net, having been the highest scorers in Serie A for the past two seasons and scoring 10 times in their four games since hosting Real on February 24.

In the meantime, the only time Madrid struggled to score in the home leg of a knockout tie in the competition was in the 2011 semi-final, and Los Blancos should be able to do so again, as they have in their last 12 games in all competitions.

The first leg was a game conditioned by the early dismissal but Tuesday’s match should provide the goal-filled encounter we expected in northern Italy last month.

Real Madrid vs. Atlanta Tips and Predictions

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals are priced at evens (2.00) and looks like a tempting option given the two sides’ respective scoring form.
