The awarding of the prize was cancelled in 2020 and the world’s best players are again showing up with their performance to achieve the title. Ballon d’Or will be given in December but football world is eying on biggest competition.
Performance of the players will decide who will be the next Ballon d’Or winner. According to the weekly performance of the players lets have a look at Ballon d’Or 2021 odds:
#1 Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain)
With 23 goals and three assists Mbappe is on top of the list. Mbappe scored both PSG goals as they reached the Coupe de France final, and even if his performances don’t garner the same attention as his performances in the Champions League knockout stages, it is great to see Mbappe back in fine form after his injury.
It is possible that he could claim a domestic double next week, giving him an important confidence boost heading into the European Championship; where it could be decided whether or not he will win the Ballon d’Or in 2021.
#2 Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)
With Eight goals, seven assists and Premier League & Carabao Cup titles De Bruyne is runner up as he’s on 2nd place.
Despite missing City’s trip to Newcastle with a minor injury, De Bruyne is not believed to be in danger of missing the Champions League final on May 29.
Afterwards, there is Euro 2020, and right now the midfielder appears to be lining up for the favorite trophies in a matter of weeks.
The most likely scenario is that De Bruyne could win the Europa League or Champions League championship, but he is already deserving of the ranking.
#3 Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)
With 30 goals, four assists and Bundesliga & Club World Cup titles Lewandowski is on 3rd place in the race to win the prize. It was a memorable week for Lewandowski Polish striker now has 40 goals in a single Bundesliga campaign, level with Gerd Muller.’
#4 Ruben Dias (Manchester City)
With One goal, 17 clean sheets and Premier League & Carabao Cup titles he is on 4th place overtaking Messi who was in 4th place last week.
Premier League fans have been hyped about Dias’ emergence for months, and his performance against PSG showed them what all the fuss was about.
Although Dias also watched from the bench against Newcastle, now seems to be gaining momentum toward being named Premier League Player of the Season.
#5 Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
With 28 goals, nine assists and Won Copa del Rey title Messi is number 5. Barcelona won’t have a La Liga trophy to go along with Messi’s final season at the club,
The Celta Vigo comeback, even with a Messi goal, may prove to be Messi’s last home match at Camp Nou. If that is the case, it likely sums up his time in Catalunya.
#6 Romelu Lukaku (Inter)
With 16 goals, seven assists and Serie A title Lukaku stays at 6.
Despite scoring in both games he played, Lukaku broke rules related to Covid-19 after throwing a late-night birthday party between the two fixtures.
It is important for him not to lose focus too much, even though the Scudetto is assured for him, since Euro 2020 still awaits this summer.
#7 N’Golo Kante (Chelsea)
With One assist Kante is on 7th place. The France international was unable to make an impact on Wembley as he has in other high-profile matches in 2021, instead watching his former team, Leicester, compete for the FA Cup.
In spite of his importance, though, the absence of the midfielder from Saturday’s semifinal defeat to Arsenal underscored the lack of control that Chelsea lacked without their No.7 there.
#8 Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City)
With 14 goals, six assists Gundogan remains at 8. At Newcastle on Friday, Gundogan was asked to step out and he quietly impressed in a slightly withdrawn role. Despite not scoring many goals anymore, Gundogan remains an integral part of Manchester city.

With Nine goals, seven assists Phil foden is on ninth position. One of the highlights of this season has been Foden’s progression from a promising youngster to one of Europe’s best defensive midfielders. Now he has the chance to shine in the Champions League final.
Foden was given a week off after securing his third Premier League title before the age of 21, Guardiola is unlikely to risk many of his star players in the closing months.
#10 Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund)
With 22 goals, nine assists Haaland secured 10th place. Haaland returned to action for the DFB-Pokal after two weeks of injury and just happened to hit Dayot Upamecano while he was riposte to RB Leipzig.
