Fernandes boasts an incredible 46 goal involvements – 28 goals and 18 assists – for United since his £67million arrival from Sporting CP in January 2020, and his brilliant performances have helped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side climb back to the top of the Premier League.

However, his stunning form has not stopped the doubters asking questions about his performances, with talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara among those to accuse the 26-year-old of ‘going missing’ in big games.

After his quiet outing in last week’s goalless stalemate with Liverpool in the league, O’Hara says the Portuguese has to start doing more than just scoring penalties.

Well, he certainly did that as he came off the bench to lead United to a FA Cup fourth-round victory over Liverpool on Sunday, scoring a fine free-kick to seal a 3-2 win.
