Alan Brazil has urged Premier League clubs to take a chance on Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard in the summer.

Edouard boasts a brilliant scoring record for Celtic, netting 80 goals in 159 appearances since signing for them in 2018, and has played a huge part in their success.

Celtic have really gone off the boil this season, however, with poor performances in Europe compounded by rivals Rangers being streets ahead of them in the Scottish Premiership.

Reports over the 23-year-old’s future at the club won’t go away and he’s been linked with a reunion with Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, who coached him at Celtic.

And Brazil would welcome the Foxes going for Edouard, who could work as a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy, 34.

However, the talkSPORT host believes other clubs in the English top flight will be after the France Under-21 international, including West Ham.

“I expect Celtic to be much stronger next year, much stronger. They may lose Edouard up front, he’s one of their best players but they will bring in new players,” Brazil said on talkSPORT Breakfast.

“He could go to the Premier League. Sometimes he looks lazy but I don’t see why not, he holds the ball up brilliantly. He’s got quick feet and scores goals.

“For instance, Leicester. Brendan would have him all day long. Vardy can’t keep going, can he?

“He’s a cool dude, he finishes lovely, he doesn’t panic. He’ll throw a shimmy and beat someone and just knock it away.

“I don’t know how good he is because I don’t think he’s been tested against him but I would give him the chance.”

“Davy [David Moyes] will know all about him. That’s a possibility for West Ham.

“Edouard’s got all the abilities, he holds it up, he’s pacy, he scores goals he’s cool on the ball so that’s a possibility.”
