A section of Chelsea fans have given their backing to under-pressure Frank Lampard, amid claims he is close to being sacked as Blues manager.

The fan group ‘We are the Shed’ have created a banner to display at Stamford Bridge to show their support of the club legend and boss.

The banner reads ‘In Frank We Trust’ and has been created after donations from members.

However, it has not been made in time to be displayed at Chelsea’s FA Cup third-round clash against Morecambe on Sunday – which is LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on talkSPORT.

That means it may be too late to be of any use, with claims Lampard could be sacked if the Blues lose to the League Two club – which talkSPORT pundit Darren Bent has said would be the ‘biggest upset in FA Cup history’.

Chelsea host the Lancashire club at the Bridge on Sunday, with 66 places separating the teams in the English football pyramid.

Few will be giving Morecambe much of a chance, but the Blues and boss Lampard will go into the match under plenty of pressure to deliver and end a run of three games without victory, which has seen the London outfit slip to ninth in the Premier League.

Serious questions have been asked about Lampard’s future in the Stamford Bridge hotseat and, following claims he is ‘on the brink’, the former midfielder is now the favourite to be the next managerial casualty in the Premier League sack race.

There are a number of doubts over Lampard’s suitability for the job, with claims the manager is ‘too emotional’ and doesn’t have the experience to get the best out of his expensively-assembled squad.

And Bent claimed that a shock defeat to Morecambe would certainly spell the end.

“If Chelsea get beat to Morecambe, Frank Lampard has to go,” the ex-Premier League striker said on Friday afternoon’s Drive.

“You can’t get beat by Morecambe. MORECAMBE! If they get beat, he will have to go.

“Timo Werner, Kai Havertz… Lampard has spent all this money on all these players and they still get beat by Morecambe, at home?

Darren Bent suggests Frank Lampard isn’t under as much pressure as other managers because he’s a club legend and questions decision to spend £200 million on players that he can’t fit into the team

“There would be no excuse for Chelsea, because whatever team they decide to put out it’s going to be strong.

“Just take the centre-forward, for example – if Olivier Giroud doesn’t play, Tammy Abraham will play, and if Abraham doesn’t play, Werner will play.

“They’ve got Christian Pulisic, they’ve got Hakim Ziyech – they’ve got all these players!

“If it happens, it would be THE biggest FA Cup upset in history!”
