Northern Premier League side Marine host Premier League giants Tottenham in a classic FA Cup clash this weekend.
Marine, who play in the eighth tier of English football, welcome Jose Mourinho’s superstars to Crosby for one of the biggest mismatches in the cup’s long history.
Marine have won seven matches to reach the third round and have been rewarded with a dream tie.
Tottenham head into the third round clash having smashed Leeds last weekend and booking their place in Carabao Cup final in midweek.

Marine v Tottenham: What has been said?
Jamie Carragher will sponsor Merseyside-based non-League side Marine in their FA Cup tie against Tottenham.
The Northern Premier League Division One North West outfit announced recently that former Liverpool and England defender Carragher’s JC23 Foundation stepped in after a previous sponsor pulled out.
The foundation will sponsor the dugouts and pre-match warm-up tops for the glamour clash at the Marine Travel Arena in Crosby.
Carragher lives in Crosby and has been a regular visitor to matches at Marine.
Marine chairman Paul Leary said: “We are indebted to Jamie and the JC23 Foundation for their support in this magical game for Marine.
“The JC23 Foundation do magnificent work in helping young people not just in Liverpool but right across the world. We are proud to partner with them on this special occasion.”
The JC23 Foundation, set up by Carragher in 2009, helps over 1,000 good causes for young people around the world each year.
Marine v Tottenham: Match stats and facts
- This will be Marine’s first ever FA Cup match against a top-flight opponent.
- This will be Tottenham’s first FA Cup match against non-league opposition since January 1995, beating Altrincham 3-0 in a third round tie.
- This is just Marine’s second appearance in the FA Cup third round, going out at this stage in 1992-93 against Crewe Alexandra (1-3).
- Tottenham have progressed from 13 of their last 14 FA Cup third round ties, with the exception being a 0-2 loss at Arsenal in 2013-14.
