Gareth Bale drops down to the bench having started the FA Cup win at Wycombe. Mourinho has picked five defenders for his starting XI but Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez are benched.

As for Liverpool, they’ve had to make yet another adjustment at the back with Jordan Henderson, who missed the last two matches with a thigh injury, coming in for Fabinho.

There were whispers that Fabinho wasn’t going to play a part with eagle-eyed Liverpool fans seeing the Brazilian wasn’t around during a training session at Leyton Orient’s ground on Thursday.

Henderson plays alongside Joel Matip, who missed Liverpool’s FA Cup defeat at Manchester United last weekend, with the Reds midfield consisting of Thiago Alcantara, James Milner and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Below you can see how both sides line up.

Tottenham: Lloris, Aurier, Rodon, Dier, Davies, Doherty, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Bergwijn, Son, Kane

Substitutes: Hart, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Winks, Bale, Lamela, Sissoko, Moura, Vinicius

Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Henderson, Robertson, Thiago, Milner, Wijnaldum, Salah, Mane, Firmino

Substitutes: Kelleher, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Minamino, Tsimikas, Shaqiri, Origi, Rhys Williams, Phillips

It’s a must-win game for both sides, who have ambitions to win the Premier League this season.

Liverpool were top of the table at Christmas but haven’t won in the five matches they’ve played since beating Crystal Palace 7-0 on December 19. They are currently fifth and seven points off Manchester City.

Tottenham are a point behind the Reds but have been in better form, having won two of their last three in the league.
