If Kylian Mbappe showed us he will be the greatest player in the world one day, Erling Haaland just sent a reminder that he won’t be far behind during Borussia Dortmund’s 3-2 win at Sevilla.

Europe’s brightest young talents are on fire in the Champions League this week, starting with 22-year-old Mbappe’s scintillating hat-trick for PSG at Barcelona.

Haaland just loves the Champions League

And Haaland, 20, has picked up where the Frenchman left off on Tuesday night by netting twice for Dortmund in the first-half against Sevilla.

The Norwegian’s first was fantastic, turning near the halfway line and driving at Sevilla before a lovely one-two with Jadon Sancho, which would’ve had Man United fans thinking about what might’ve been.

His second was far more routine, although he makes one-on-one finishes look so simple, curling a left-footed strike into the corner to put Dortmund 3-1 up in Spain, before the hosts pulled one back in the second-half.

That made it an astonishing 18 Champions League goals (yes, 18) in just 13 matches.

It also makes Haaland the fastest player to reach ten UCL goals for one club, hitting his tenth at Dortmund after starting his European career at RB Salzburg.

If someone can get Mbappe and Haaland in the same team one day, they will win absolutely everything.
