Jamie O’Hara recalled the time Udinese legend Antonio Di Natale ‘pulled his pants down’ in a game and the ex-Tottenham man got sent off for ‘nailing him’.

Spurs were playing the Italian side in the Uefa Cup in 2008 in a game that was not O’Hara’s finest moment.

The talkSPORT host was playing left-back against the forward and ended up receiving two yellow cards in the space of a minute.

The north London club went on to lose the match 2-0.

Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast, O’Hara said: “I remember the time when I was playing out in Europe, it was my first season playing for Spurs and I was in and around the team. [Juande] Ramos took over [as manager] and I was playing alright.

“We were playing against Udinese away from home. Di Natale and I went to left back and I was having one. I was getting the run around. Di Natale was pulling my pants down.

“You know when you just get to the point thinking ‘I’m just going to nail him. I’ve got to nail him to shut him up’.

“I’ve looked over to the side and it looks like they are making a sub. Chris Gunter is warming up and got his boots on, so I thought ‘I’ve got to make a statement’.

“I’ve nailed Di Natale and I don’t know how I didn’t get sent off for it in the first place. I got a yellow and he’s got up and it’s all going off.

“They put the board up for Chris Gunter to come on, they’ve taken a quick free kick and it’s come back out to me and I’ve nailed him again and got sent off.

“I remember walking off the pitch and my number on the board was up and Chris Gunter has just gone to sit back down on the bench and I was thinking ‘sorry, mate’.

“I was sitting in the changing room after was thinking ‘oh no, I’m going back to Chesterfield on loan’.”
