Georginio Wijnaldum will Liverpool on a free transfer to join Barcelona, according to a report.
Georginio Wijnaldum has reportedly decided to leave Liverpool on a free transfer.
The Netherlands international’s current deal at Anfield is due to expire at the end of June, and it is understood that talks over an extension have reached a stalemate.
Barcelona continue to be strongly linked with the central midfielder, and according to The Mirror, Wijnaldum will reject any offer from Liverpool in order to move to Camp Nou on a free.
The report claims that the 30-year-old ‘dreams’ of joining the Catalan giants, and Ronald Koeman‘s position as head coach has only strengthened Wijnaldum’s desire to make the move.
The Dutchman has again been a key player for the Reds this season despite the speculation surrounding his future, making 25 appearances in all competitions, while he has not missed a single Premier League game in 2020-21.
Barca are also said to be confident of signing Lyon forward Memphis Depay on a free transfer.
