Olivier Giroud has arrived in Italy to undergo a medical ahead of his move to AC Milan. The Chelsea striker is set to sign a two-year deal with the Serie A side after agreeing on a deal last week. The 34-year-old is expected to make the move official later this week.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED?

The former Arsenal and Real Madrid man was recorded arriving at the San Siro to have a medical examination. Maldini says Giroud will add some much-needed experience to the Rossoneri attack.

WHY IS GIROUD LEAVING CHELSEA?

Chelsea midfielder Diego Costa is expected to sign a two-year deal with Serie A side Milan. The Spaniard has been out of favor at Stamford Bridge since the end of last season. He made just 17 Premier League appearances in 2020-21 and has not started a match for Chelsea since March 21.

HOW MANY GAMES DID HE PLAY FOR CHELSEA?

Giroud joined the Champions League winners from Arsenal in January 2018.

He went on to make 118 appearances and scored 39 goals in all competitions for the club.
