The Premier League awards the Golden Boot award at the end of every season to the player or players who have scored the most goals. It has been rewarded annually since the Premier League began in 1992/93. The top scorer’s award is shared if there are joint top scorers.
1۔ Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah is on the top of the list with 22 goals. Liverpool’s Salah is targeting his 3rd attempt to win this award, he is two times Golden Boot winner and last year’s runner-up. Salah has averaged just under 24 Premier League goals a season over the last four seasons and will be hoping to top that this season.
2۔ Heung-min Son
Heung-min Son with 20 goals is the 2nd contender of this award. This season is proved to be a great season for him unlike last year with many injuries. He could take down Salah if he continues the rhythm. Let’s see how he comes top of the list.
3۔ Cristiano Ronaldo
The most famous Cristiano Ronaldo with 18 goals stands at 3rd place. Although there are few matches left let’s see if he can score more goals to clinch Premier League Golden Boot.
4۔ Harry Kane
Harry Kane is on 4th place with 17 goals. He is last years runner up with some more efforts he can retain his last years position again.
5۔ Diogo Jota
Another Liverpool players Diogo Jota is included in the list. Diogo Jota scored 15 goals this season and proved himself as a good replacement of Roberto Firmino. He can contribute even more this season after Firmino’s injury.
6۔ Kevin De Bruyne
Kevin De Bruyne with 15 goals representing Manchester City at 6th position. De Bruyne has been in superb form for Manchester City this season following his return to full fitness.
7۔ Sadio Mane
Liverpool is sharing 5th position with Sadio Mane’s 14 goals. In 2018-19 Premiere League season Sadio Mane shared Golden Boot award with Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Let’s see if he could make it again this year.
