Tottenham have been told to ‘get used to life without Harry Kane’ as it’s inevitable he will leave the club this summer with the team playing so badly.

That’s according to talkSPORT host and long-suffering Spurs fan Paul Hawksbee, who has claimed Jose Mourinho is ‘making Tony Pulis look like Rinus Michels’ with his ‘putrid’ style of football.

Supporters are turning on ‘The Special One’ after the team’s latest dreadful performance, as they lost 1-0 at home to Chelsea on Thursday night.

The result meant Tottenham have now lost three Premier League games in a row, for the first time since 2012, with the north London’s side losing five of their last nine games.

The Sports Bar was joined by a host of angry supporters all calling for Mourinho to be sacked after his team’s ‘diabolical’ display, with pundits blasting the team for having ‘no passion, no pride and no intent’ in their game.

But Hawksbee fears what the team’s latest collapse means for the future of talisman Kane.

The England captain has been regularly linked with a move away from the north London club, with his future said to be hinging on his chances of winning a trophy.

The striker has recently been touted as a possible summer target for Manchester City, who Spurs face in the Carabao Cup final in April.

Hawksbee believes it’s more than likely Kane will depart, even if he lifts that trophy with Tottenham, and he claims the absence of fans in the stadium is the only reason Mourinho is still in the job.

“Get used to life without Harry Kane, Spurs,” said the Hawksbee and Jacobs host.

“I think we’re going to have to. He’s got to be looking at that and thinking, ‘Oh dear’.

“If he finishes 12th and wins a League Cup medal, is he going to think, ‘well this is me for life, can I sign a new five-year contract’?

Martin Keown says Jose Mourinho’s approach is killing Tottenham’s confidence as Spurs continue to struggle with Harry Kane out injured

“Some pundits are saying that fans will be placated if Tottenham win the League Cup, but if they finish 12th in the Premier League – which is looking very possible – and win the League Cup, that’s not a good season!

“For a guy of Jose’s experience who tells us how much he’s won in the game, he should be ashamed of that performance.

“It’s absolutely shambolic, and I’ve got no confidence against West Brom either! I just despair. It’s just awful and I think they’re so lucky there are no fans there.

“Jose would have turned on the crowd by now because the guys behind the dugout would be telling him what they think and he wouldn’t be able to resist it. He’d be digging out the fans in press conferences, he’d be turning around with the three fingers and shouting ‘respect’ and it would have got far more toxic.

“Honestly, pitiful. The first-half was one of the worst I’ve seen Tottenham play, and I’ve been going since 1968!

“A lot of people have been saying it’s all about ‘To Dare Is To Do’ and ‘The Tottenham Way’… it’s not!

“If you’re used to watching bad football and you served up that, that would be on another level.

“Jose Mourinho is making Tony Pulis look like Rinus Michels. It’s putrid!”
