Jurgen Klopp has been warned by talkSPORT host Andy Goldstein for naming a strong Liverpool team against Aston Villa’s kids.

A coronavirus outbreak has swept through Villa’s senior squad this week which put the tie in serious jeopardy of taking place.

The Villa side is made up entirely of Under-18 and Under-23 players, with no first-team players to take part.

Klopp showed no mercy by naming the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum in his team.

Goldstein was heavily critical of the Liverpool boss for his team selection on Friday night.

“Klopp can never, ever moan now about fixture pile-ups. You don’t need to put Mohamed Salah on the pitch. You don’t need to put Wijnaldum or Henderson on there.

“Maybe one or two of them but you don’t need all of them.

“We were talking earlier about whether this could be a 10-0 and could easily be. I think that’s quite sad, isn’t it?

“If you get an injury to one of those key players then he can only blame himself.

“There’s taking it seriously and then there’s this. He’s playing 16-year-old kids! Put Shaqiri in.”

Klopp has been a vocal critic of the fixture pile-up this season even labelling it a ‘crime’ at one point.

The Reds have had injuries to key players to contend with and the German has been calling for the five substitute rule to be implemented.
