Liverpool are ‘working on solutions’ to get out of their slump in form, Jurgen Klopp has insisted following his side’s 3-2 FA Cup defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Reds crashed out in the fourth round after Bruno Fernandes’ fantastic free-kick secured United an impressive victory in a thrilling five-goal encounter.

It was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer first triumph against Jurgen Klopp’s men, who are in arguably the worst patch of form under the German in his six-year tenure.

Liverpool have won just one of their last seven outings, but Klopp is adamant his side will find the solution to get out of their slump.

Asked if he is concerned by his side’s form, Klopp told talkSPORT: “Yes. I’m not sure if it’s concerning – or if concerning is the right word.

“We are busy with working on solutions. Let me say it like this.

“We are not happy with the result we have had recently.

“But I saw my team tonight ready for that fight. They really wanted it and did a lot of good things.

“In cup competitions it’s all about winning so we have to take the positives and work with the negatives.”

Klopp pinpointed Liverpool’s desire to score goals as the reason why they lost, saying they made it too easy for United to break on the counter attack.

“Good start in the game, really good start,” Klopp continued.

“We scored our first goal and then conceded and then we obviously tried too hard.

“We had too many players in front of the ball and the moment we lost the ball the counter attack was too easy.

“The formation was not right but as I said when we don’t score for a while, the human reaction is to try really hard.”
