After being asked about when the time comes to move from Anfield, the Egyptian forward maintained that his future is not his responsibility

Mohamed Salah opened the door to Spain by saying that he would like to be involved in the future in the League.

The star of Liverpool has long been associated with a return to Real Madrid. In a December 2020 interview with AS, it has also indicated a potential transfer to Spain.

With a deceptive domestic campaign in 2020-21, it is unlikely that speculation will be heard about the possible Salah’s release and he again told the Spanish press about his future, declining to exclude the Champions of the Premier League.

WHAT REALLY HAS BEEN SAID?

He met with Marca before the Championships of Liverpool and addressed questions about his future with the Reds, alongside Zinedine Zidane.

“Not up to me [if I’m staying],” said Salah. “But I like not talking about it now. We’ll see what happens.

“MY KLOPP RELATIONSHIP IS A TYPICAL TWO-PERSON RELATIONSHIP. SO I WOULD DESCRIBE IT. HERE IS HOW I WOULD DESCRIBE IT.”

The Egyptian added that he wanted to pursue Spanish football after playing in England and Italy: “For several more years, I think I will play.

“WHY NOT? NOBODY KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE, BUT ONE DAY MAYBE I’LL BE PLAYING IN SPAIN, YEAH.”

The 28 year-old speaks glamorously of Zidane and says:

“HE’S A FANTASTIC COACH. HE’S A GREAT COACH. THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUES HAVE WON THREE. FOR THE SQUAD, HE IS DOING A GREAT JOB. HE LEFT AND RETURNED TO ASSIST THE TEAM TO WIN TROPHIES AGAIN. WHEN I WAS YOUNG, HE WAS ONE OF MY IDOLS. AS A MENTOR, HE DOES WELL.”

CORRESPONDING LIVERPOOL

“ANOTHER INTERVIEW, ANOTHER PUBLICATION IN SPANISH.”

Following the AS in December, we have Marca in March and the newspaper’s Mohamed Salah has close relations with Real Madrid.

“The upcoming Champions League meeting between Real and Liverpool, in this situation, is comprehensible. Salah’s quotes were reasonably mild on that tie. When it came to Sergio Ramos, Zinedine Zidane and his staff were revered; he avoided the temptation to fan the flames.

“NATURALLY, AGAIN HE WAS ASKED ABOUT HIS FUTURE, OFFERING AN UNAMBIGUOUS RESPONSE. THE FUNDAMENTAL THRUST WAS “WE’RE GOING TO SEE.”

“This, coupled with his very curt response about his partnership with Jurgen Klopp, would certainly fuel new rumors about a potential summer transfer. He described them as “two specialists.”

“The fact is, however, that a Salah departure from Anfield this summer is exceedingly doubtful. Liverpool is training for next season for their leading scorer, and talks to give him a new contract deal are also on the table. Salah’s latest contract is set to expire in 2023.

“Who can afford him now if anybody? Of course not Barcelona, which has financial problems for everybody and certainly not true, which should be targeting younger talent who will put the club over the next decade. For instance, Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

“Would Ligue 1 and PSG call on a player who is so essential to heritage and international recognition? Perhaps not. Not probably. Salah knows that Liverpool is a club set up to contest great honors in the coming seasons, amid the troubles of this season.

“WE WANT LIVERPOOL TO LEAD THE CHARGE.”
