Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil nightmare could finally be coming to an end with the German understood to be in advanced negotiations with MLS side DC United.

Ozil was left out of the Gunners’ Premier League and Europa League squads for the first half of the Premier League season and has been training away from the first team in recent weeks.

Football London reports DC United have offered an ‘attractive package’ to the player which includes the expansion of his M10 brand across the United States.

The report also says DC United’s offer includes the expansion of Ozil‘s ’39 Steps Coffee’ brand in their Audi Field stadium, own merchandise line and will use him as the face of the club.

However, there are also claims from Turkey that Fenerbahce are about to sign him.

Ozil, who has Turkish roots, has previously spoken of his admiration for Fenerbahce.

A number of reports in Turkish media have tipped the 32-year-old to join Fenerbahce in January.

However, journalist Berkay Tokgoz claims that this deal is close to happening as Ozil is in the area and will wear the No.23 jersey for the Yellow Canaries.

Sport Witness cites claims in Turkey that Ozil met with Fenerbahce president Ali Koc in London.

The report also points to other ‘trusted sources from Turkish media’ are claiming the same.

Former Germany international Ozil is under contract at Arsenal until June where he’s understood to pocked £350,000-a-week.
