One of the big talking points of the match was Klopp’s decision to substitute Salah in the second-half as his side searched for an equaliser.

Salah has been linked with a move away from the club this summer, with Real Madrid and Barcelona linked with a switch for the Egypt superstar.

Former Arsenal ace and talkSPORT co-host Perry Groves was equally stunned by Salah’s substitution.

Following the match, he said: “Then you saw the face of Mo Salah. That makes no sense whatsoever.

“Firmino isn’t in good form, Mane is having perhaps the worst spell he’s had at the moment.

“Mo Salah is looking over thinking ‘have I seen the right number there? Am I missing something?’

“He’s the top scorer and he’s one of those players who can nick you a goal.”
