Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly agreed to allow Jesse Lingard to leave the club on loan this month.

Lingard has made just three appearances this season and he is understood to be keen to seek first-team football elsewhere.

ESPN claim that the move on loan has Solskjaer’s approval and now the final decision rests with the club’s board.

The 28-year-old is said to be keen to stay in the Premier League with Newcastle, Tottenham, West Ham, Sheffield United and West Brom all interested.

Despite getting a contract extension in recent months, it seems clear that Lingard is not part of Solskjaer’s long-term plans.

At 28, the England international may be wise to consider his options elsewhere – and he is not short of suitors.

Besides the three aforementioned Premier League clubs, French side Nice and Portuguese giants Porto are also interested.

talkSPORT’s transfer guru Alex Crook told White and Jordan on talkSPORT earlier this week: “Clubs are literally queuing up for Jesse Lingard, not just in England.

“West Ham, Tottenham, and Sheffield United have all expressed an interest.

“We know about Nice, Porto have also been mentioned to me, but Manchester United’s stance hasn’t really changed.

“Despite the fact that Lingard isn’t part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans, he’s reluctant to trim his squad.

“So I think this is one that will go right to the end of the window when Solskjaer can assess his squad, see who’s fit and see if he can let Lingard go out and play football.”
