Simon Jordan believes Patrick Vieira or Thierry Henry would be ‘so lucky’ to manage Bournemouth.
The two Arsenal legends, who won two Premier League titles together in north London, have both been interviewed for the Cherries vacancy as the Championship side look to find a permanent replacement for Jason Tindall.
Vieira has been out of work since leaving Nice in Ligue 1, while Henry is managing MLS club CF Montreal.
Former Crystal Palace chairman Jordan has reservations about Vieira or Henry bossing Bournemouth, who are sixth in the Championship.
He told talkSPORT: “[Jose] Mourinho wasn’t an outstanding player, neither was Arsene Wenger, neither was the guy we all look to now, Jurgen Klopp.
“So just because once upon a time you had halcyon moments of being a player, you’ve got to interview properly and be able to illustrate to the Bournemouth guys that they’re going to take the task in hand.
“Bournemouth are a former Premier League club that were in the Premier League for five years. These guys would be so lucky to get an opportunity to manage a club in that position.
“Ask Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink how he feels about managing down the pyramid [at Burton]. Ask other managers that have had to go down, Teddy Sheringham obviously didn’t cut it at Stevenage.”
Jonathan Woodgate has won three of his four matches in temporary charge of Bournemouth.
And Jordan has backed the former Real Madrid defender to get the job on a permanent basis, despite his poor spell at Middlesbrough last season.
He added: “They’ve got 17 games to go, they’re sixth in the league, they’ve got a three-point cushion, a game in hand, why change it right now?
“The trouble is if you then subsequently revert to a situation where Jonathan Woodgate finds the same form he found at Middlesbrough and you’ve got to fix that problem with six or seven games to go… who wants to appoint a manager when you’re sitting in a play-off spot with five or six games to go?”
