Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that striker Sergio Aguero is on the cusp of a move to Barcelona in an emotional farewell speech to the Argentine.

As City thumped Everton 5-0 in an emphatic finale to the season, Sergio Aguero scored twice in just 25 minutes.

Barcelona has long been rumored to be Aguero’s next destination, and reports last week suggested that an agreement was in place, and now Guardiola appears to have confirmed that.

Guardian said,

“MAYBE I’M GOING TO TELL YOU A SECRET.”

There is a possibility that he is close to a deal with the club of my heart – for Barcelona, and behind [Lionel] Messi, the greatest player in history.

“I’M PRETTY SURE HE IS GOING TO ENJOY. AND MAYBE BARCELONA ARE STRONGER AND STRONGER WITH HIM ON THE PITCH.”

After the game, Guardiola tearfully greeted Aguero in an interview with Sky Sports, unable to hide his emotions.

“We love him so much,” Guardiola said. “He’s a special person for all of us. He is so nice. He helped me a lot. So good. We cannot replace him. We cannot. It was a perfect end, a fairytale moment. It was so good.

“HE MADE AN INCREDIBLE TWO GOALS TO FINISH THE GAME IN A GOOD MOOD AND NOW WE HAVE FIVE DAYS TO PREPARE FOR THE FINAL.”

In his own words, Aguero was appreciative of the club’s emotional send-off and said he felt honored.

“BEFORE THE GAME, I FELT SO STRANGE, THE SENSATION IS NOT GOOD. I PREFER TO THINK ABOUT THE GOOD MOMENTS,”

He said.

“I’m a striker, my target is to score goals, so I’m so happy because it’s my last game and to score two goals is fantastic for me.

“It was important to me that the club and I turned our first title into a championship. Then Man City started to win more titles, so I’m so happy as it’s not easy to be 10 years at one club.
