Even if Celtic had won at Tannadice it is unlikely they would have ever closed the gap on Rangers, and Gers fans have been in the partying mood for weeks.

Knowing Celtic’s bid for ten league titles in a row was on the verge of ending, Rangers fans organised a plane banner to fly during the game which mocked the Hoops.

“Can you see us now?! #55TITLES,” read the banner – and it was prophetic as title number 55 was confirmed as Celtic could only draw.

Rangers’ celebrations had been in full swing before their title win was actually confirmed – but the partying is sure to ramp up now the championship has been officially won.

After the defeat of St Mirren on Saturday, the players gathered to a corner of Ibrox to salute the fans stood outside the stadium.

They carried on in the dressing room afterwards with manager Gerrard right in the thick of the action.
