Sergio Aguero’s dad has addressed Pep Guardiola’s demonstration of feeling over the striker’s takeoff from Manchester City, saying that he ‘doesn’t believe his tears’.
Aguero left the club following ten years this late spring, marking an agreement with Barcelona after his arrangement with Man City terminated. “There are things about Guardiola, he is an incredible mentor. Yet, starting with one day then onto the next the players change you, the climate changes. You can’t be sure whether you are a starter or not.
“THERE IS SOMEBODY WHO SAYS IN THE EVENT THAT YOU ARE NOT DIGGING IN FOR THE LONG HAUL AT THE CLUB AND YOU MUST CHOOSE THE OPTION TO CHANGE. HE [AGUERO] WAS [ALLOWED TO STAY] UNTIL THE LAST TIME [HE REESTABLISHED HIS CONTRACT] HOWEVER IT WAS UNREALISTIC [THIS TIME] – GROUP WHERE HE IS AN ICON.”
Aguero’s dad likewise uncovered that the striker had offers to remain in the Premier League before he chose Barcelona.
“TOTTENHAM, ARSENAL, AND CHELSEA WERE KEEN ON HIM UNTIL THE LATEST POSSIBLE TIME. IN THE EVENT THAT HE DIDN’T REMAINS IN ENGLAND HE WOULD GO TO ITALY.”
