Brighton’s struggles in front of goal continued as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to West Brom in the Premier League.

The Seagulls were not without their chances as they missed two penalties while Lewis Dunk had a goal disallowed in bizarre circumstances.

Lee Mason disallowed, then allowed before VAR told him to disallow the goal once again following a quickly taken free-kick.

Pascal Gross missed a 19th-minute penalty when he hit the bar from the spot.

A VAR check awarded the spot-kick after Okay Yokuslu handled in the box but Gross struck the woodwork.

Danny Welbeck missed a second penalty for the Seagulls, smashing his effort against the post.

It just wasn’t Brighton‘s day in front of goal and it hasn’t been over the last three games.

A statistic emerged during their defeat to the Baggies that showed over their last three games they’ve had 66 shots, 20 on target, yet have scored just once.

Goals have certainly been a problem for Graham Potter’s side of late as they keep slipping towards the relegation zone.

They are now just four points above Fulham, who can close that gap to just a point when they play Crystal Palace on Sunday.
