Simon Jordan has refused to budge over his damning assessment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, despite Manchester United’s 9-0 victory over Southampton.

The Red Devils were ruthless as they equalled the record for the biggest-ever Premier League win, which lifted the club level on points with table-toppers Manchester City.

Simon Jordan, though, is still not convinced

But Jordan maintains United will NOT win anything under the ‘mediocre’ coach this season.

The former Crystal Palace owner has never been convinced by the Norwegian.

Back in December, following United’s Champions League exit at the group stage, hard-hitting Jordan tore into Solskjaer and said the Red Devils will NEVER be successful with him in charge.

He claimed the coach doesn’t have the talent or the experience to lead arguably the biggest club in world football and, asked what the under-pressure boss should do, Jordan replied: ‘Get his coat!’

The mood at Old Trafford is very different now, after a rich vein of form has seen United touted as title contenders – which was only reinforced by their mammoth victory over the Saints.

It has been suggested that Jordan’s ‘Ole get your coat’ could go down in history alongside Alan Hansen’s infamous ‘you can’t win anything with kids’ comment.

talkSPORT’s Jim White even indicated his co-host had ‘eased off’ on his strong verdict after the 9-0 win… but Jordan insisted otherwise.

“I haven’t,” said the talkSPORT co-host.

“What is different with what I have ever said? I have never said Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn’t a decent football manager, I have never said Man United won’t achieve certain things.

“But I HAVE said they will not supersede Liverpool or Man City.

“Of course you can look at the game yesterday and you say, take out the fact Southampton ended the game with nine players and United scored their final three goals in the last six minutes, take out the fact they had a player sent off in the second minute, take out the fact it was a very difficult side to their starting line-up [because of injuries].

As Manchester United go top of the league, listener Danny says Simon Jordan’s Get your coat, Ole will go down in history with Alan Hansen’s You’ll never win anything with kids!

“But you still have beat a Premier League league team 9-0 to be as compelling as Manchester United were, it’s still a challenge .

“You can’t argue with the fact Man United have beaten another Premier League side 9-0, but it does not alter the central theme!

“I don’t care about all these trolls on Twitter that seem to pop up. I didn’t hear a word from them last week about what an imbecile I was after Sheffield United beat them and then when Man United and Arsenal stank the place out in a 0-0 draw, and I didnt go on my soapbox to gloat.

“But here they are now saying, ‘here you go Jordan, what have you got to say about that?’

Simon Jordan maintains Man United will win nothing with Solskjaer in charge

“What I’ll say about this is: You’re second in the league and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is NOT going to win anything this year.

“I maintain that.

“If Man City win their two games in hand, where are United in the league? Liverpool have been dreadful for a period of time but they seem to have come through that and their engine is starting again.

“So with the best will in the world, what is it I have got to repent for?”
