The international Scotland looks sure to miss both sides from the Euro League quarter-final with Knee injuries against Slavia Prague

Tierney’s left-hand side was predicted to be sidelined by the arsenal’s knee injury on Saturday, which will be the product of two sets of the Arsenal Europa League quart-finales versus Slavia Prague.

In the first half of the 3-0 loss Tierney limped off and was visibly upset as he returned to the locker room.

The international Scotland will take place on Tuesday for a scan on his right leg, and the findings will show that the 23 year-old will have a prolonged period on the sidelines.

SO FAR, WHAT ARE WE AWARE OF?

Just after Saturday’s half-hour meeting with Liverpool, Tierney was hospitalised after a challenge to James Milner, whose right leg was bent beneath him.

Mikel Arteta said after the game,

“HE FELT SOMETHING IN HIS KNEES.”HE WAS IN SORROW ENOUGH THAT IT SEEMS HE’S GOING TO GET HURT, BUT WE’RE NOT SURE HOW LONG HE’S GOING TO BE.”

Tierney will be scanned on Tuesday to assess the extent of the injury, but Arsenal is already prepared for at least several weeks without the defender.

WHAT WOULD TIERNEY LOSE GAMES?

When the left returns after three weeks, he misses all the Europa League quarter-final legs against Slavia Prague and the Scheffield United, Fulham and Everton Premier League matches.

He will still be doubting whether Mikel Arteta will advance to the last four of the competition in the first half of the Europa League against Villarreal or Dinamo Zagreb.

Arsenal may have 13 games left in the ongoing season, depending on its results in the Europa League – and the final could be played in Gdansk on Wednesday, 26 May.

Before that Arteta would be anxious to involve Tierney back.

WHO WOULD SUBSTITUTE HIM?

Since Sead Kolasinac was permitted to join Schalke in January, Tierney has no natural cover at the left.

Cedric Soares comes to Liverpool former Celtic defender and is most likely to be filled in on the left side of the back four even if it is a right back.

Arteta also has the opportunity to play Bukayo Saka, the winger being impressive at times last season in the left-hand position.

DOES ARSENAL HAVE SOME OTHER NEWS TEAM?

All of them are also evaluated in front of Slavia Prague for Bukayo Saka (Hamstring), Emile Smith Rowe (hip) and Granit Xhaka (ill).

The three players missed Liverpool on the weekend, but Arsenal is certain that they will blend in on Thursday night in the Emirates stadium.

After a knee operation on Monday, David Luiz misses.
