Tuchel has won four of his five matches in charge but scraped past Barnsley last time out in what was an unconvincing FA Cup win.

One big positive of Tuchel’s reign so far has been the improving form of Timo Werner.

The striker has not scored but has delivered two very promising performances in his last two outings against Tottenham and Sheffield United, effectively winning the matches for Chelsea by assisting all three goals.

Tuchel’s men host Steve Bruce’s side at Stamford Bridge on Monday night and Werner will be hoping to end his 14-match goal drought at Stamford Bridge.

But what is the team news for the clash and how could the Blues line-up? talkSPORT.com takes a look…

Team news

Werner should be fit to return for the clash under the lights.

The Germany striker has been struggling with a dead leg but is back in full training after missing the victory over Barnsley

Thiago Silva will miss out, however, as the Brazil defender continues to nurse a thigh complaint.

“It’s too soon for sure for Thiago,” Tuchel said in his press conference.” “We are aiming for Southampton and trying hard so let’s see if we make it but we cannot promise.”

A return for Kai Havertz is also unlikely, with Tuchel saying the match comes ’too close’ for the Blues’ record signing.

“It’s Friday and we still have three training sessions before the game. It should be absolutely okay for Timo to come back but maybe too close for Kai,” he added.

“I’m not sure if he’s out [of training] today but he will be missing this match as well.”
