Tomas Soucek is some player, isn’t he?

The Czech Republic international continued his sublime season for West Ham by hitting a double as they made it SIX wins on the bounce with a 3-2 victory at Crystal Palace.

David Moyes watched his in-form side make a poor start to the London derby when Wilfried Zaha grabbed the opener after three minutes.

But it was largely one-way traffic afterwards, with Soucek hitting a first-half double to take his tally for the campaign to seven while Craig Dawson wrapped up the points with a fine header after the break.

And a remarkable stat has emerged following Soucek’s brace at Selhurst Park which has put dozens of former Hammers strikers to shame.

Only six of West Ham’s last 38 STRIKERS have managed more than Soucek’s seven goals in a single Premier League campaign.

Soucek, who joined West Ham permanently in a £19million deal last summer, has now scored 10 goals in 33 Premier League appearances for the east London club.

His double saw Moyes’ side move to fourth in the top-flight standings as their sublime start to 2021 continued.
