Jose Mourinho hasn’t got a clue how to succeed at Tottenham without Harry Kane, believes Jamie O’Hara.

The former midfielder says Spurs has become a ‘one-man band’ under the Portuguese coach and the team look ‘lost’ without the injured striker.

O’Hara was fuming on the talkSPORT Breakfast as he reacted to his old club’s embarrassing 1-0 defeat to Brighton on Sunday.

It was the north Londoners’ first game since losing Kane to a double ankle injury in last week’s loss to Liverpool, and it was clear how much they will miss the England captain after a dreadful performance on the south coast.

Spurs may have enjoyed more possession but they just didn’t do anything with it, as Brighton – who registered DOUBLE the amount of shots on goal than their opponents – claimed their first home win of the season.

Mourinho even got a taste of his own medicine, as a stubborn Brighton side held on to win 1-0 thanks to Leandro Trossard’s 17th minute goal.

The boss admitted after the shock defeat that his side are suffering from ‘sadness’ and low ‘self-esteem’.

But O’Hara has blamed Mourinho for the club’s recent slump, insisting Mauricio Pochettino managed to find a way to cope without Kane throughout his tenure in charge.

“Harry Kane gets injured at this point of the season, every season, we know that and Spurs fans have got used to it,” he told talkSPORT.

“When Pochettino lost Harry Kane, we coped. We managed to get through games, Son came into his own and scored goals, other players like Lucas Moura stepped up to the plate. We dealt with not having him.

“But with Jose Mourinho, when Kane doesn’t play it’s literally like we have absolutely nothing else to offer. There’s no plan b on how we’re going to get through games.

“Watching that light night, you’d say we’re a complete one-man band. Even Son looks lost without Harry Kane playing now.

“You’ve got to have an idea of what you’re going to do when you haven’t got Kane, because he gets injured and you have to be able to deal with it.

“Pochettino dealt with it. He got Spurs to the Champions League final without Harry Kane.

“But Jose Mourinho doesn’t seem to know how to get the best out of the team when he’s not playing.”

The defeat at Brighton has left Tottenham in sixth place in the Premier League table, six points adrift of the top four.

Ex-Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp also joined talkSPORT on Monday morning to insist the club can still qualify for the Champions League this season, saying that should be their priority.

But O’Hara says they’ve got no chance based on their current form.

Harry Redknapp urges Jose Mourinho to make Bale the main man at Tottenham and says achieving Champions League football is an absolute ‘must’ this season

And with calls growing from fans for Mourinho to be sacked, the former player admits there will now be serious questions asked about the manager’s future.

“I can’t see that happening based on the performances we’re watching at the minute,” O’Hara added.

“They’re miles off where they need to be. I can’t see Spurs getting in the top four at all. No chance.

“They were so bad against Brighton, completely devoid of ideas, it was almost desperation time for the whole of the game, there was no game plan, a lack of confidence, a lack of an edge.

“It was a shocking performance. Abysmal.

“We won’t make the top four this season. The only way this season will be classed as a success is if we win the League Cup and beat Man City, who are probably one of the best teams if not the best team in the world right now.

“If we don’t win that cup final and we’re still playing this badly in the league, that’s when the huge questions are going to be asked over whether this is really the right man to take the club forward.”
