After nine minutes, the Baggies midfielder tried to pass the ball back to Sam Johnstone but did not look where the goalkeeper was and could only watch as his pass rolled into the net.

It was a nightmare start for Sam Allardyce, who is still looking for his first win as West Brom boss.

You can look at the comical own goal, below…

And it went from bad to worse shortly before half-time as Ezgjan Alioski doubled Leeds’ lead before the break.

It got even worse for the Baggies with Jack Harrison making it 3-0 and a deflected Rodrigo strike putting the visitors four goals up.

Five minutes later it was 3-0 when Jack Harrison swapped passes with Patrick Bamford and found the top corner from close range.
Incredibly, Leeds made it FOUR before half-time as Rodrigo’s shot from the edge of the area hit Dara O’Shea and deflected in.

Leeds and West Brom have the joint worst defensive records in the Premier League, with both having conceded 30 times.

Raphinha also netted in the second half as Leeds recorded their biggest victory in the top flight since a 6-1 win over Charlton in 2003.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side kept back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season to climb to 11th.

The teams are going in opposite directions as Leeds’ roller coaster season continues, while second-bottom Albion are already facing an instant return to the Championship.
