A shambolic first half performance led Manchester United 2-1 defeat to the Turkish champions. United’s 2-1 defeat came as they conceded two poor goals with in the opening half. United’s defensive efforts were very poor.

Demba Ba collected the ball on 13 minute and beating goalkeeper Dean Henderso created his first goal for his team , second goal came from Edin Visca sealing first Champions League win for Turkish champions.

“The performance wasn’t good enough against a team that worked and ran. They hit us on the break a couple of times and scored two goals like you sometimes do in Europe when you don’t defend well enough.

“The first one we forget about the man up top and that’s unforgiveable. The second one, we’re not very well organized to counter-press and win the ball back when we’re playing. So two tough goals to giveaway and then we didn’t have enough to come back second half.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer labelled Manchester United’s defeat as “unforgivable”, but declined to comment on speculation his job is at risk after Manchester United lost their second game in four days.

“I decline to comment on such a thing. Of course, it’s early on and opinions are out there all the time. You’ve got to stay strong. I’m employed by the club to do a job and I do that to the best of my ability with my staff.”

After this defeat United’s 10-game away winning run ends in Istanbul, United become first English club to lose in this champions League season.
